Mission Statement

The mission of the St. Joseph Bicycle Club is to encourage all people to participate in bicycling without regard to age or expertise. We promote all aspects of bicycling with special emphasis on bicycle safety and bicyclists' rights and responsibilities and general health and fitness. We also seek to enhance communications among cyclists to provide opportunities for bicycling and socializing with others.

Come join our group of bicycle enthusiasts who enjoy cycling as a family recreational event, you will meet new friends with similar interest and get great exercise.

* Although our main activities will run from April through September, we will continue to meet in the "off season" months to discuss issues like preventive maintenance on you bicycle, what clothes to wear, how to operate your bicycle safely and any other bicycle issues that might be of interest to our membership.

* We intend to draw on the experience of some of our diverse group of riders and inviting guest speakers to attend our monthly meetings.

Our intention is to create an atmosphere where families can share their bicycling concerns, anecdotes and ideas.

Our club includes people that ride mountain, road, and cross training bicycles; we even had some tandem riders!

* SJBC was established in 1997.

While we also will be catering to the more experienced rider, our main focus will be to cater to those just out there for a little fun.
